Our Confession

What We Believe

A clear, biblical, and compassionate confession of faith, grounded in Scripture, lived in love.

We are a church committed to the authority, clarity, and sufficiency of Scripture. We do not believe the church has the right to soften, revise, ignore, or explain away God's Word in order to satisfy cultural pressure, personal preference, political fashion, or denominational tradition.

Section One

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the final authority for doctrine, morality, worship, and church practice. Scripture is not one voice among many; it is the standard by which every teaching, tradition, emotion, opinion, and movement must be tested.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."

2 Timothy 3:16

"Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth."

John 17:17

"To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn."

Isaiah 8:20
Section Two

Doctrine Proven from Scripture

We believe doctrine must be proven from Scripture, not merely inherited from tradition, assumed through habit, defended by emotion, or adjusted to fit the spirit of the age. Church tradition may be useful, but it is never equal to Scripture. Human wisdom must bow before divine revelation.

"These Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so."

Acts 17:11

"See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition… and not according to Christ."

Colossians 2:8
Section Three

The Image of God in Every Person

We believe every human being is made in the image of God and must be treated with dignity, patience, and compassion. This includes the unborn, the elderly, the weak, the poor, the stranger, the confused, the sinful, and the suffering. Human dignity is not earned by social status, intelligence, usefulness, health, race, sex, or agreement with us. It is given by God.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

Genesis 1:27

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb."

Psalm 139:13
Section Four

The Sanctity of Human Life

Because of this, we believe abortion is the unjust taking of innocent human life and is morally wrong. The unborn child is not disposable, invisible, or less human because he or she is dependent, voiceless, or unwanted by others.

"You shall not murder."

Exodus 20:13

"Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter."

Proverbs 24:11
Section Five

Marriage, Sex, and Gender

We believe marriage is created by God as the covenant union of one man and one woman. We believe sexual activity belongs within that covenant, and that homosexual behavior, adultery, fornication, pornography, and modern attempts to redefine male and female all conflict with biblical teaching.

"Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

Genesis 2:24

"Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female?"

Matthew 19:4

"So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

Matthew 19:6
Section Six

Truth Spoken in Love

At the same time, we reject cruelty, mockery, hatred, and partiality. Biblical conviction does not excuse sinful speech or contempt for people. Compassion means telling the truth in love, not affirming what God calls sin.

"Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ."

Ephesians 4:15

"Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness."

Galatians 6:1
Section Seven

Faithful Discernment

We reject both progressive compromise and irrational conspiracy thinking. We are not interested in replacing biblical Christianity with cultural activism, political tribalism, emotional manipulation, or anti-intellectual distractions. The church must not bind consciences where Scripture has not spoken, nor should it chase speculative theories that are not required by the Word of God.

"Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels."

2 Timothy 2:23

"Avoid foolish controversies… for they are unprofitable and worthless."

Titus 3:9

"Do not go beyond what is written."

1 Corinthians 4:6
Section Eight

Preaching the Whole Counsel of God

We believe pastors must teach the whole counsel of God, including doctrines that are unpopular, uncomfortable, or offensive to the surrounding culture. The goal is not to be harsh, but to be faithful. A church that refuses to speak clearly where Scripture speaks clearly has already surrendered its authority to something other than God.

"I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God."

Acts 20:27

"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching."

2 Timothy 4:2

"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? … If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Galatians 1:10
Section Nine

Scripture Above Modern Opinion

When Scripture conflicts with modern opinion, we submit to Scripture. We do not reinterpret the Bible simply to avoid offense, gain approval, or appear respectable to the world. God's Word judges every age; no age gets to judge God's Word.

"Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens."

Psalm 119:89

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."

Isaiah 40:8

"We must obey God rather than men."

Acts 5:29

Our Commitment

We are committed to being biblical, clear, morally serious, intellectually honest, and pastorally compassionate. We do not want vague religion. We do not want man-made legalism. We do not want cultural compromise. We do not want conspiracy-driven distraction. We want Christ, His Word, His gospel, His church, and His truth.
