At Faith Baptist Church we believe that there is a place in God’s house for everyone.  Our desire is to allow your entire family the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships, grow, serve, and worship without reservation. It is exciting to see those with differing abilities have a meaningful part in our church family and have room to learn and grow and use the gifts that God has given them.

We call our special needs ministry Stone Soup, Friends of all Abilities after the children's folk story.  The central theme is that everyone has something to contribute.  We strongly believe in inclusion and have a staff of trained shadows to support our children and teens who need it as they attend their classes and worship on Sundays and Wednesdays. Some families choose for their children to be with same-age peers while others decide that an age group that best fits their child’s needs.  Some make use of our adult shadows while others simply need a peer to help them along.  We have volunteers that can communicate with your child in sign language and we also have picture communication tools in place.

We have a sensory room and sensory tools such as headphones and cushions that help your child succeed in all settings.  A medical professional is also onsite and on-call during all services.

At Faith Baptist Church we are not looking to simply accept your child and your family…we want the opportunity to embrace you!  If you are interested in visiting and your child or teen will need a shadow, contact Tami Burt at 678-227-0970 or tami@thebridgeofgeorgia.org.

Stone Soup Fridays
On the second Friday night of each month from 6:30 - 9:30 pm, we provide an evening of respite for families. Parents may bring their child with special needs and their siblings for a fun-filled night of crafts, games, skits, music, and so much more.

Deaf Ministry

The ministry interprets Sunday morning services, special events, classes, and provides access to other ministries and activities as requested at Faith. To request an interpreter contact Tami Burt, 678-227-0970 or tami@thebridgeofgeorgia.org.

We offer The Family with Special Needs parenting series. These are one month modules on the things that parents of children with special needs deal with regularly. Modules include topics such as, marriage, behavior management, writing social stories, the IEP process, sensory issues, alternate therapies, and more. This is a great time to meet other families and have meaningful discussion about topics that matter to you. Classes meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00 and childcare is provided.
