Special Needs Ministry

At Faith Baptist Church we believe that there is a place in God’s house for everyone.  It is exciting to see those with differing abilities have a meaningful part in our church family and have room to learn and grow and use the gifts that God has given them.  We have a staff of trained shadows to support our children and teens who need it as they attend their classes and worship on Sundays and Wednesdays. Some families choose for their children to be with same-age peers while others decide that an age group below best fits their child’s needs.  Some make use of our adult shadows while others simply need a peer to help them along.  We have volunteers that can communicate with your child in sign language and we also have picture communication tools in place.  A medical professional is onsite and on call during all services.  Our desire at Faith is to allow your entire family the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships, grow, serve, and worship without reservation.  We have a sensory room and sensory tools such as headphones and cushions that help your child succeed in all settings.  At Faith Baptist Church we are not looking to simply accept your child and your family…we want the opportunity to embrace you!  If you are interested in visiting and your child or teen will need a shadow, call Tami Burt at 678-227-0970 or call our church office at 770-267-6603.  We are eager to serve you!
